In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Rochester Hills; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in Michigan are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.

Hours are published for 6 days a week. On most of those days it is open 11 am–10 pm. It is closed on Sunday. Rochester Hills is in Michigan, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Rochester Hills follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

The restaurant was busy! This was a great sign. I didn't know that they have 2 menus. If you want more traditional Chinese, you have to ask for the Chinese menu. The pork spare ribs are good. The potatoes with eggplant and green peppers were also good. I was disappointed that they were out of the tofu for the one tofu dish I wanted. Overall the experience was great and fast

This place is a hidden gem and I’m willing to drive extra miles for it. If you’re looking for genuinely delicious Chinese food without expecting fancy ambience, elaborate menu, of flash description, I highly recommend this spot. Every time I dine in, most of the surrounding table are filled with Chinese speaking customers. The fried fish is a must-try item, featuring a cryspy exterior and tender fish inside, and a perfectly matched spices. The twice-cooked pork also delivers a rich and mouth watering flavor. Inspired by seeing it on almost every table, I ordered the stir-fried beans, and I was amazed by how delicious such a simple and ordinary dish could be. Plus, it is a great option to cool down my tongue from the heat of Chinese peppercorns. It is a small restaurant and crowded especially during he weekday lunch and weekend dinner but staffs are kind.

So I had carry out so atmosphere can’t really be judged. Previous reviews were solid. Really wanted to like this place, but real reviews are based on food. I had orange chicken and the chicken was overcooking and a bit tough with the sauce lacking flavor. Wife said her chicken pad tai was maybe a 5 out of 10. Crab Rangoon came with sauce in a small styrofoam container which you would expect. Problem was it was only 1/4 full and that might be generous. Egg rolls are thin. That is not the problem. The problem is that is mostly wrap. No filling to speak of. Be sure to ask for soy sauce. They did not give any.

Our family visits Michigan about once a year, and there’s one restaurant we always make sure to stop at — Asian Express! It’s seriously delicious. Not just good, but so amazing that once you taste it, you can’t stop thinking about it. The dish we never skip is the spicy fried fish. We always order two servings haha. I’ve never heard of or tasted anything like it before. Every bite is a flavor that can’t be imitated, strangely addictive and unforgettable. And the sweet and sour pork! It comes out freshly fried, crispy on the outside and perfectly tender inside, not overly sweet. Every bite makes you go “Wow~”. The stir-fried squid is huge, too. We usually save some leftover sauce and mix it with rice for another meal — and it’s still unbelievably tasty. Our whole family keeps exclaiming how good it is while eating. We also can’t skip the dumplings and shrimp fried rice. The dumplings are crispy outside and juicy inside, and the shrimp fried rice has such amazing flavor. Even with five of us eating, we kept going “Wow, wow” the whole time haha. The parking lot is spacious, but the dining area inside is a bit small. That’s why we usually go around 4 PM when it’s less crowded. Tha
